[00:00:57] Speaker A: Welcome, everyone, to the beginning of a new adventure, a new era. That's right. You heard it here first, folks. A new story, new characters, new almost everything. So let me tell you what's going on here. So Jamie and I are here today, and sometimes when we want to record, well, yes, we're here to tell you a story. Sometimes when the three of us want to record, one of us can't. And sometimes that's Jake and that's a bummer and we miss him already. But we want to record stuff. We still want to tell stories. So then Jamie and I thought, hey, what if we start a new little side story that we record whenever Jake can't meet just to have something to present to show you guys? So that's what we're starting today, is a new story that'll just be Jamie and myself. Don't worry. Rage of the sea is still going to be the main thing. That's primarily what's going to happen. It's primarily what's going on. This is just kind of like a bonus story. More story. I know you guys like that. More story. [00:01:56] Speaker B: Otherwise known as person. [00:02:01] Speaker A: That's just a name, Jamie. I think it's just someone's name. [00:02:04] Speaker B: It's also copyrighted, probably. [00:02:07] Speaker A: Probably. Speaking of names, though, Jamie and I have done a tiny bit of talking about what his new character is going to be, and we'll get into that in just a second. [00:02:17] Speaker B: That's correct. [00:02:18] Speaker A: But we need to figure out a name, Jamie. That's what we got to do first. And I thought we'd do that on recording. [00:02:24] Speaker B: On recording, absolutely. I have an idea of how to make this name, and it could be a train wreck, but it could be great. I think we should go back and forth choosing individual letters. [00:02:34] Speaker A: Okay. [00:02:35] Speaker B: All right. Do you want to go first or should I? [00:02:37] Speaker A: You go first. I can't do it. I'll go first. Too much. [00:02:42] Speaker B: First letter. It's a big lot of pressure. First letter. [00:02:45] Speaker A: First. [00:02:46] Speaker B: Let's be. [00:02:47] Speaker A: I'm writing these down. [00:02:49] Speaker B: You know what it's going to be. [00:02:50] Speaker A: M. M. I'm going a out the gate. [00:02:53] Speaker B: A-R-M-A-R. [00:02:56] Speaker A: I'm going s. Okay. T-L-E-N. [00:03:11] Speaker B: Marslin. [00:03:13] Speaker A: Marslin. [00:03:19] Speaker B: Okay. [00:03:20] Speaker A: I think that's it. I think that's gold. [00:03:22] Speaker B: Can I hit you with O? [00:03:24] Speaker A: Marcellano. [00:03:26] Speaker B: Marcelino. [00:03:28] Speaker A: Marcelino. That's a mouthful. [00:03:33] Speaker B: This shouldn't be funny, but I'm just immediately picturing him introducing himself, the other person just being like, oh, bless you. And he's just like, no, I didn't sneeze. [00:03:41] Speaker A: My name is Marcelano. Marcelano. The RStL. That's a hard part. Marcelano. No, we got to realize something. Oh, boy. I love him. [00:03:56] Speaker B: Immediately. [00:03:58] Speaker A: Okay, I'm going to pitch something to you. I love the name Marcelando. Okay. I do need this to be a name fans and listeners and us can say without issue. Okay, I'm concerned about RSTL. Okay, I'm going to throw this to you. I will allow you the power of veto. You can veto one of those four letters. So we could have. [00:04:20] Speaker B: But the more we say it, the more people will get used to. It'll be fine. [00:04:24] Speaker A: Marcelano. Hey, my name is Marcelano. That's what I'm saying. [00:04:29] Speaker B: Yeah. Marcelino. [00:04:30] Speaker A: Okay. All right, we're locked in, ladies and gentlemen. M-A-R-S-T-L-E-N-O. Marcelino. All right, let's. Wow. [00:04:44] Speaker B: What an open to a great start. [00:04:45] Speaker A: What an open. Okay, let me introduce Marcelino to you. So we find Marcelono. Marcelino is a human. Yeah. For those who care about knights quest stats, he's a skogan human, which means he's, like, a reddish brownish tannish skin tone, darker hair. That's his vibe. We find Marcelino inside of a castle. Now, this is an old castle. The stones have been here. No one even knows who built it. I mean, this is an old castle. In fact, it's been here so long that there's, like, moss growing on the stones, giving them, like, a greenish hue. But it's not like a ruin. Like people live here. There's a hustle and a bustle. There's decorations. There's lanterns and lights. It's like a properly running castle, but there's just, like, this greenish tint to all of the brick. Hence why it's called the Greenstone Castle. [00:05:43] Speaker B: Right. They didn't decide to stop cleaning for a cleanliness reason. It's just, like, the moss has become kind of like a castle mascot, and everybody likes it. [00:05:55] Speaker A: Yeah. And it's not even, like, the fuzzy. Like, it's kind of, like, in the type of stone. Like, it's maybe, like, porous. So it's kind of Green. Okay. Yeah, yeah. It's green rock. Greenstone Castle. And we find Marcelino. He is in a smaller room. He's got a desk in front of him, like a writing desk. He's wearing, I would say, at the moment, probably just, like, a longer tunic. [00:06:19] Speaker B: Sure. [00:06:20] Speaker A: He's got his club on his side. Got some potion bottles attached to his belt. Now, Jamie, I kind of hinted at where we were at. What do you think Marcelino's how he's feeling right now, sitting at this desk? He's not alone in this room, but I just want to get a. What is his posture? [00:06:40] Speaker B: I'm going to go with nervous, because whatever we're studying, whatever we're testing, maybe whatever we're working on, I get the impression that it's difficult and he's okay at it so far. He's not the best, but he's trying, and that is a very specific feeling of, like, I hope I've got this, but also, I'm really worried that maybe possibly I don't, and I think that's the kind of student we're looking at. [00:07:08] Speaker A: Gotcha. Yeah. So it's kind of nervous. As Jamie said, he is in a little school environment. I'm going to say, how many other people should there be? Other students? I'm going to say there are two other students in the room as well. One is a female human, and one is an elf that is in the room as well. And there is an older human man up front giving the teaching. I'm going to say he's got graying hair. It's kind of like a salt and pepper kind of vibe. A well kept beard. Definitely got some nicer robes on. Definitely some kind of, like, noble looking figure. And he's got a map hanging on the wall. And he continues his lecture, and he's like, all right, now let's resume. We've been talking about the history of. Right. Which you should all know. We are in it. We're in the capital of Cordia. All right. He's, like, looking right at you, Marcelino. You've got that part, Marcellano. Right? We're in Cordia. You know this part. [00:08:17] Speaker B: Okay. [00:08:19] Speaker A: Now, as we all know, it first formed after it left the group of the force of the people. So it's been around for. Anyone know? Anyone know how long ago that was? Anyone? Okay, not important. We'll keep going. Now, anyone remember, what is our country most notable for? Anyone? Any kind of points? And I'm going to ask, does Marcelino want to try to guess? Otherwise, I'm going to have one of this. Okay. [00:08:49] Speaker B: It's going to go for it. [00:08:50] Speaker A: Yeah, Marcelino, I know this would be good. What do we got? [00:08:55] Speaker B: Cordia is most notable for, as everyone knows, robust trade with neighboring countries. [00:09:09] Speaker A: I'll give you a half on that one. We do have good trade. That's not what we're known for, though, Marcelono. But you were paying attention to yesterday's lecture, so I'll give you that. Very good. We did talk about trade yesterday. No, the correct answer. Anyone else? Yes. Sympathy. And he points to the girl. I guess her name is sympathy. All right. Simply says, well, we have a very unique, magical creature biome here. There's obviously, the wood elves live here, the centaurs live here, and there's just a very rare types of magical creatures and plants. Lots of special plants from the ancient forest. Giants and all kinds of things. So the magical plants and animals. Okay, you could have said that in a shorter way, sympathy, but I will give you four points on that. [00:10:05] Speaker B: Does the other student in this room, who is an elf, get a little annoyed at being referred to as a magical creature? [00:10:13] Speaker A: You know what? Let's go with that. Jamie, what is this elf's name? I'll let you name the elf student. [00:10:20] Speaker B: What was the name from the three line? It was like DBo, I think. Was that right, Debo? [00:10:28] Speaker A: What did we say? [00:10:30] Speaker B: No, it was Debon. [00:10:34] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:10:35] Speaker B: This elf's name is D Bon. [00:10:36] Speaker A: Yeah, D bon. He's like, sympathy. We're not magic creatures, okay? We're just people that are gooder at magic. Okay? All right, professor, can I throw a flag on the field on this one? She should not get full points for that one. Okay. [00:10:58] Speaker B: Kind of making humans look bad, if I'm being honest. [00:11:01] Speaker A: Yeah. Thank you, Marcelino. And if he's saying that, professor, that's really. Come on, that's not good. All right, Deeban, I'm really. I don't care right now. I just want to get through this lecture for lunch. Listen, the king has instructed that you three learn because of your individual roles, okay? That you learn some stuff. And I'm just trying to get that done so I can go back to my research, okay? That's what I would much rather be doing. Oh, my goodness. Today, all right? Now I don't even remember where we were. Okay, Cordia. We got the ocean to the west. He points to the map. We got the mountains to the east. We got the swamps to the south, and then the forest and desert to the north, okay? And would you look at that? That's all there is to know, all right? [00:11:45] Speaker B: I really regret saying that this is a difficult topic that he's having trouble studying because it sure seems like we're just looking at a big map. [00:11:54] Speaker A: Yeah, we're looking at a big map. [00:11:56] Speaker B: There's an ocean over here. I don't know. There's some mountains over here. [00:12:00] Speaker A: Any questions? [00:12:02] Speaker B: Marcelano is just like, I need to mark this down perfectly or else I'll get the information wrong. [00:12:07] Speaker A: I think sympathy raises her hand. She's like, are we going to go into more detail about the history? I mean, you kind of went over the general details. I would like to learn more. It's like, oh, look at that. It's lunchtime already. Okay, make sure you study up for the test tomorrow on the whole history. But you didn't teach it. That's great. Good. All right. [00:12:32] Speaker B: Okay. This is why Marcelono is anxious about the information, because they never learned it. [00:12:36] Speaker A: Yeah, the professor, he's like, oh, no. Doesn't care. [00:12:40] Speaker B: Oh, no. [00:12:41] Speaker A: All right, if you have any questions, see me after lunch. I will be locked in my research tower. Good luck getting in. [00:12:48] Speaker B: None of us can ever find you after lunch. [00:12:51] Speaker A: That's the point, Marcellano. You're learning. Proud of you. [00:12:55] Speaker B: I'm trying. [00:12:57] Speaker A: I like the professor. He, like, takes his couple of books, and he just, like, leaves. [00:13:01] Speaker B: Yeah. I love the idea that the professor is the person in this room who's least jazzed about the actual information. [00:13:10] Speaker A: We should give the professor an actual name. [00:13:12] Speaker B: Oh, absolutely. [00:13:14] Speaker A: You have freedom to do that if you want. So it's you, sympathy, and debun in the classroom now. [00:13:19] Speaker B: Well, guess. Seems like Professor Chuckle buns is having a worse day than usual. It's really unfortunate. [00:13:25] Speaker A: Did you say chuckle buns? [00:13:27] Speaker B: I did. [00:13:28] Speaker A: Is that okay now, I just said. [00:13:30] Speaker B: That I could name him whatever I want. [00:13:31] Speaker A: Is that his legal name, or is that what you call him as, like, a little slur? [00:13:38] Speaker B: It depends which one is funnier. [00:13:41] Speaker A: Okay, here's what I'm going to do. I'm going to say you call him Chuckle buns, and I'm going to say his real name. Sounds like that. Okay, so his name is Chukublins. [00:13:57] Speaker B: Chukolmans. [00:13:59] Speaker A: Professor Chuklin, Chukman. Chuckmans. Chuckmans. Professor Chuckmans. [00:14:09] Speaker B: Were you picturing these characters as, like, teenagers or older teenager to young adult? [00:14:14] Speaker A: Okay, I would say, yeah, teenagers, young adult. [00:14:17] Speaker B: I'm going to keep the voice either way. [00:14:18] Speaker A: I was just curious. Yeah, Professor Chuckmans. [00:14:21] Speaker B: All right, that's what I read. Chuckmans is pretty good. [00:14:24] Speaker A: Yeah, d bond. He kind of goes up to you and he's like, Marcelino, hey, yeah, I kind of want, like, get out of here. I don't even know what this test is going to be tomorrow. I really don't care. I've got other things I'd rather do. Just go outside. Right. I'm not a fan of being trapped inside this old castle. It's not for me. Maybe we can go find some of these magical creatures that sympathy's talking about. [00:14:54] Speaker B: You make a tempting offer, but I'm torn. If we don't pass this test, that can severely impact our future as knights. [00:15:08] Speaker A: That's true. The three of us are all training to be knights. I mean, you're going to be the Green knight, which is pretty big. [00:15:19] Speaker B: Specific. The specific delineations of different knights that are not exactly the same. Yes, I've remembered that. [00:15:27] Speaker A: Hold on, now. I can't tell if you're being serious there, Marcelino. That does sound like your tone for when you don't know something. [00:15:37] Speaker B: I would never. I'm always quite serious. You can tell by the way my voice never changes. [00:15:42] Speaker A: Okay, so anyway, you're training to be the Green Knight. [00:15:46] Speaker B: That's correct. [00:15:46] Speaker A: And I'm training to be the star knight. [00:15:51] Speaker B: Ooh, I like that. [00:15:52] Speaker A: Star knight. Okay, and sympathy is the, I'm thinking some, like, tune like music. Oh, she's the tone Knight. [00:16:05] Speaker B: So your title is going to sound like starry night, and her title is going to sound like tonight. Everyone's fine with this? [00:16:12] Speaker A: Yes. That's on purpose. [00:16:19] Speaker B: Now it kind of sounds like you're the one who's not being serious. I'm sorry. You know what? It's really beneath me to make fun of other people's night ranks. But, hey, you know what? I overheard some gossip in the castle about this fascinating religion called Yolo, which focuses on how you really only live once. Let's do it. Let's go see what we can find with these magical creatures. [00:16:41] Speaker A: Okay. I don't know why you referenced a different religion when we have our own. [00:16:47] Speaker B: No, they were just talking about it. They weren't proselytizing or anything. [00:16:50] Speaker A: Yeah, no, it's fine. That makes sense. Yeah, I like that I only live once. Okay, Debon and Marcelino, leave the castle. You guys know this place? Well, you've been here for. I'm going to say you weren't born and raised here, but you've been here for a couple of years. We'll go with that training esquires. [00:17:10] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:17:10] Speaker A: And so you walk past the servants walking around carrying food and cleaning, and you see a couple of other nobles discussing things. It's a very pleasant atmosphere. It's not like everyone's, like, laughing and having a party, but it's not the kind of place where people are scared or worried about what they say. It's a good place to live and very natural. Right. There are lots of little plants growing through the cracks of the castle. Oh, there's a flower just, like, growing out of the wall, or there's genuine gardens and planters in different places. You do see a good mix of humans and wood elves here. There is a centaur that walks by, which isn't super normal, like, they're not, like, here all the time. But you know about the centaurs. You've seen them, and so you go, where do you go? I'm going to say, do you want to just go straight out into the town? Do you go out into the courtyard of the castle? Do you kind of leave the town and go, like, into the woods? [00:18:12] Speaker B: Yeah. Our plan was the woods. Right. I feel like that was the most likely place to try to encounter magical creatures. [00:18:19] Speaker A: Yeah. So you go out to the woods and something that's kind of cool about the woods by greenstone Castle and just greenstone in general, which is the name of the town, it still has that old woods feel, like it's not like it's been torn down or thinned out for lumber. It still has that old growth vibe. So there's some just honking trees providing lots of shade, but there's still, like, little beams of light peering through the leaves. There's a good undergrowth, so you can still walk around without feeling like there's all these smaller plants. It's just a healthy, good forest for all kinds of creatures, magical and non magical, to live in. [00:19:08] Speaker B: Sure. [00:19:08] Speaker A: All right, Marcelino, the great woods. Yeah, it's great forest. [00:19:16] Speaker B: Still pretty big. You know what? I'm going to put my skills and information I've learned and training to the test in going to be stealthy so as not to disturb any of these magical creatures we've heard so much about. I'm going to be careful, I guess. [00:19:36] Speaker A: Let me see your green knight skills. Night of the forest. [00:19:40] Speaker B: Absolutely. I am very in touch with nature. There's no way this is the first time I've ever tried this, let alone with somebody watching. Let's go. [00:19:50] Speaker A: What I love as me, as Nathan is I don't know how much Marcelino is lying, and that's fun for me. Yeah, we'll find out. Okay, so you're going to try to catch some critters. [00:20:02] Speaker B: Yes. Or at least find. [00:20:04] Speaker A: Let's do. We've got a lot of options, I think, for finding critters. I could see it being searching because you're searching. [00:20:13] Speaker B: Love that. [00:20:14] Speaker A: I could see it being sneaky because you're just trying to not be noticed, maybe like, you stay in one spot and wait for something to pass by. I see it being husbandry because that's just our animal and plant. [00:20:25] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. I like that. Let's go with husbandry. [00:20:29] Speaker A: Okay, do husbandry. [00:20:31] Speaker B: That'll give me one green and one yellow. [00:20:34] Speaker A: And also, it's difficulty two. [00:20:36] Speaker B: Yeah, I like this. This feels very first level of an rpg before everything goes horribly wrong. [00:20:46] Speaker A: That's what we were hoping for. That's the vibe we're going for. [00:20:48] Speaker B: We have three failures, but we have two advantages. [00:20:53] Speaker A: Okay, so you're doing husbandry, which I picture that as, like, you made something to kind of lure the animals in, right. So maybe you had some food that you kind of set out. You're not making a trap, but you're just trying to get something out for them to show up. And it doesn't work either. You brought. You don't know why. Maybe that's part of your frustration. Why doesn't work? I could have sworn this was something. What is it that you brought out? What was the food that you have with you? [00:21:19] Speaker B: It was jolt berries. [00:21:24] Speaker A: They jolt berries? [00:21:25] Speaker B: Joltberries, yeah, they have a very, very mild, like, little static zap. It's a bit of a defense mechanism. They grew. So a lot of animals will avoid them, but some like them, and teenagers definitely dare each other to eat a whole handful at once. [00:21:43] Speaker A: Right. [00:21:44] Speaker B: And he was told, or at least he thought he remembered, that some magical creatures really, really like them. So you're not going to get, like, random birds and stuff, but some stuff is supposed to be super in on this, right? And it's just not happening. [00:21:59] Speaker A: Yeah, I think debunk kind of looks, and he's like, dude, why'd you bring jolt berries? What are you trying to get, like, a zapper fly to come over? Come on. [00:22:09] Speaker B: You know, I starting to think maybe Professor Chuckle buns is not the only one who's been slacking in our education. Either that or my memory is not as good as I hoped it. [00:22:18] Speaker A: He kind of pats your shoulder, and he's like, my friend, your memory's never been good. Okay. But he, like, laughs when he says it, like a meaningful. [00:22:29] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. And Marcelino looks at him in response, and he says, where am? Like, he's in on it. Yeah. [00:22:35] Speaker A: He's like, you almost got me there. He grabs one of the Joel berries and pops in his mouth. And I think the way it works is it's got to be, like, a yellowish color. He pops it, and it's got, like, a tougher outside skin, so you kind of got to put a little pressure in to pop open the berry. But when it does, the juices inside kind of react with that force. Kind of like when you have to pop when you crunch on, like, a mint candy. [00:23:07] Speaker B: Exactly. [00:23:08] Speaker A: And so he has fun with that. You got two advantages on your role, though. [00:23:12] Speaker B: That's correct. [00:23:13] Speaker A: And so I think one of them is going to be that Marcelano is going to help on the little bit of your journey that you guys are on, and the other one is going to be. [00:23:22] Speaker B: Did you say Marcelano is going to help, or were you talking about your. [00:23:25] Speaker A: Guy debon is going to help? [00:23:27] Speaker B: Okay. The other one, could it just be, like, totally unrelated? Like, we hear a sound in a different direction? Like, oh, maybe that's what we're looking. [00:23:36] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. So you're sitting in this one. Oh. But there's something over in the distance. So what Mark Debon is going to do is he pulls out. I'm going to say he has a wand. We haven't had anybody with a wand. Okay. And at the tip of it is think of a petal. It's got, like, a little bit of a curve, but it's hard and rigid with grooves texture on it. And it's kind of got a mother of pearl sheen to it. [00:24:01] Speaker B: Okay. [00:24:01] Speaker A: He's got that on the end of his wand, but the shape is like. [00:24:06] Speaker B: A flower petal, right? [00:24:07] Speaker A: Yeah, right. Cool. [00:24:09] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:24:10] Speaker A: Curved spoon cup, almost right. And he flickers it in the air, and some small, starry shaped sparkles go around the jolt berries. And he says, okay, pick them up, and wherever we place them, I'll put a little spell on them to make them, their smell, be a little bit more attractive. [00:24:31] Speaker B: He says, yeah, sounds good. Trust you to know how to make things smell strongly. Got him. And he walks off in the direction they were looking for, and he goes. [00:24:40] Speaker A: Oh, dang, that was a roast, wasn't it? [00:24:43] Speaker B: I never claimed to be very good at it. [00:24:45] Speaker A: No, you got me. That was clear. [00:24:47] Speaker B: Can Marcelano have a really lame, like, training club and training shield? [00:24:53] Speaker A: I think you're at a point where I think you have. [00:24:55] Speaker B: I would just have the real thing. [00:24:56] Speaker A: Yeah, you've got a real shield and a real. [00:24:58] Speaker B: Yeah, it works for me. Yeah. [00:24:59] Speaker A: They're not, like, the best in the world, but they're legit. [00:25:03] Speaker B: Okay. All right, we're off towards the sound we were looking for with our pungent joltberries. [00:25:10] Speaker A: Ready to. I think the spell he cast on them is, like an amplify. [00:25:14] Speaker B: Nice spell. [00:25:15] Speaker A: So it kind of just, like, boosts potency and scent and all that stuff. [00:25:19] Speaker B: Yeah. Okay. Off to use my nature skills to see if I can catch a thing. [00:25:25] Speaker A: What are you doing? [00:25:26] Speaker B: Once we get closer to the area I want, I'll think of an actual move in a minute, but for now, we're just going to see what we see. Just going to be careful. We're just going to keep our eyes open. Yeah. [00:25:36] Speaker A: So you hear the noise. It's definitely something moving through the brush. So you're following close behind. I'm going to say, like, you and Debon are both trained enough that you can move through the woods without being obnoxious. Like, you have your nature training, and he's a wood elf, and so you both are just, you've got that ability, and so you move forward, and there's definitely a creature, but it is walking away. So you need to do something to try to bring it towards you. [00:26:06] Speaker B: How about. All right, Debon, here's the plan. I'm trying to do that. Voice whispering it's not working. Yeah, Diebon, here's the plan. Gonna take these berries that you've spelled and magicked up. I'm just going to throw them ahead of the creature to get it to stop. What do you think? [00:26:28] Speaker A: I think it's worth a shot. [00:26:31] Speaker B: All right. That's good enough for me. [00:26:33] Speaker A: You do got a good arm on you, Marcelano. You do got a good arm on you. [00:26:39] Speaker B: That's what I'm known for. Marcelano, the guy who throws stuff. Yeah. This will just be like a regular. Yeah, yeah. Okay. [00:26:48] Speaker A: I'll let you do difficulty tube with a boost from his spell on. [00:26:52] Speaker B: Excellent. Excellent for accuracy. [00:26:54] Speaker A: Yes. [00:26:55] Speaker B: Love that. That means we've got this, we've got my proficiency, we've got the boost, we've got the difficulties. Okay, that's good. That is a success and an advantage. [00:27:09] Speaker A: Nice. Okay, so here's where you see, you kind of toss them, and the creature, it moves because something was thrown. It was skittish. But as you kind of get through the brush a little bit, you're able to see that there is a large elk. [00:27:26] Speaker B: Whoa. [00:27:26] Speaker A: Okay. Approaching. But it's not just any ordinary elk. [00:27:29] Speaker B: Yes. [00:27:30] Speaker A: Find yourself a magic creature, and it starts to eat the jolt berries. And as it does, as it pops these berries open, its fur, kind of, like, stands up a little bit from all the electric shocks. [00:27:43] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:27:43] Speaker A: But it doesn't stay poofed. It doesn't go. But you see that electricity kind of move up into its antlers and kind of arc across the different points of the antlers. Okay. And you hear Devon say you found a thunder elk. [00:27:59] Speaker B: Whoa. We sure did. [00:28:02] Speaker A: Oh, boy. Keep your voice down. [00:28:05] Speaker B: I'm going to do my best. [00:28:06] Speaker A: Well, I haven't seen one of these in a long time. [00:28:09] Speaker B: I've just realized I don't know what to do now that we found it. [00:28:11] Speaker A: We were just looking. We were just looking. [00:28:13] Speaker B: We're just looking, man. [00:28:14] Speaker A: If we can get some kind of proof, though, to show sympathy, I think that would. [00:28:18] Speaker B: Do we have any magical way of recording this moment? Like a little magical snapshot of feel like we probably don't? Just unfortunate? [00:28:28] Speaker A: Well, let me think about that. As a star knight, I got my wand, and that lets me do enchanting spells on things, lets me cast little sparkly stars. Oh, yeah. And it can also do this. [00:28:45] Speaker B: Oh, no. [00:28:46] Speaker A: And I'm going to make up a thing that star knights can do. All right, well, star Knight squire, of course. I'm going to say he does something with the one kind of flickering in the air. [00:28:56] Speaker B: All I can picture is you're watching Disney Channel. [00:29:02] Speaker A: He kind of does something like that where it looks like he's, like, tracing a shape. [00:29:05] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:29:05] Speaker A: And it does leave a little bit of a trail. Not like a solid line, but there's a little bit of a trail. And then when he's done, he pokes the wand through the shape, and the glittering know stars move towards the thunder elk. [00:29:18] Speaker B: Love it. [00:29:19] Speaker A: And they kind of whoosh around it, like, surround it. The thunder elk kind of moves up its head, can sense that something's happening. It darts away, and the stars come back to the wand and kind of swirl around it. And he says, okay, let's see if I remember how to do this one right. Kind of like, tilts his wand to the left, gives it a little bit of. [00:29:45] Speaker B: Okay. [00:29:46] Speaker A: And the stars then form the shape of the thunderwell, and kind of like a little cloud of sparkles. [00:29:54] Speaker B: Nice. [00:29:55] Speaker A: Okay. [00:29:55] Speaker B: All right. [00:29:56] Speaker A: And he's, like, still holding the wand at an angle, and he's like, I don't know how long it lasts. [00:30:01] Speaker B: That's fantastic. Can you do it again when people can see and think we're cool and things like that? [00:30:07] Speaker A: No, I think we need to hurry back. [00:30:09] Speaker B: Oh, it only works one time. [00:30:11] Speaker A: Well, I don't know. I haven't used it very much. It's like a mimicry. It mimics the form of something, but I don't know if it'll retain it later. We didn't get that far in the lesson I had, so I don't know. [00:30:24] Speaker B: Got you. [00:30:24] Speaker A: I think we got to run is. [00:30:25] Speaker B: What I'm trying all right, let's go. [00:30:27] Speaker A: Okay, I'm going to have you make a dexterity roll just to see if you guys get back in time. Difficulty. [00:30:33] Speaker B: Time for the spell to not wear off. [00:30:35] Speaker A: Yeah, exactly. [00:30:36] Speaker B: All right. [00:30:36] Speaker A: Or for, like, deb on the trip. [00:30:41] Speaker B: That's a failure with one advantage. [00:30:43] Speaker A: Bummer, I think. So what happens is you guys are running back and you're going through the woods, going the path. You came around the trees, back into the town, back towards the castle, and still got the shape. It's like. [00:30:55] Speaker B: Got it. Yell, like, at the same time. Sympathy. Sympathy. You got to see this thing. [00:31:01] Speaker A: And so you guys are, like, moving around. [00:31:03] Speaker B: You'll never believe it. [00:31:04] Speaker A: You're looking for her, and you run into the courtyard and you bump into sympathy. But in the process of bumping into her, Debon twists his wrist and causes it to kind of fall apart onto sympathy. So she's got, like, a pile of glittery stardust, like, falling all over her. [00:31:23] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:31:24] Speaker A: And so she's just covered in this shape. And then he's like, oh, sorry. Sympathy. I was trying to show you a trick. And he twists his wrist again, and they come back, and now they're in the form of sympathy. Like, oh, he's got them mimicking her. [00:31:37] Speaker B: It's like, oh, didn't expect that. [00:31:39] Speaker A: That's kind of cool. Hey, where'd you guys. [00:31:43] Speaker B: Do me, do me, do me. [00:31:45] Speaker A: Okay, hold on, hold on, hold on. Tiffany, forget you. Wait, no, you guys got a thing that's like. It looks like me. [00:31:52] Speaker B: Yeah. Here, walk through it. [00:31:54] Speaker A: Walk through it, walk through it. Marcelina, walk through it. [00:31:57] Speaker B: Yeah, I'm going. [00:31:58] Speaker A: She walked in. She's like. And you just got, like, dust all over your face, like glitter everywhere. And then he twists his wrist again, and now it looks just like you. [00:32:08] Speaker B: Yeah, perfect, perfect. [00:32:09] Speaker A: It doesn't move. It's like a. Well, maybe it moves a little bit. [00:32:12] Speaker B: Okay. [00:32:13] Speaker A: It mimics your form. Like, it's not following you exactly, but it moves its arm or it moves its leg, but it's not walking. It's just like a little. Almost like a hologram in place. It's like, whoa, I did it. [00:32:24] Speaker B: That is pretty intense, not going to lie. Now, if you did it to yourself, would the form of you also have a wand? [00:32:32] Speaker A: I don't know. And he hesitates to walk through it. And siblings is like, what are you guys doing? I thought you guys left and we were supposed to eat lunch, and your lunch is still like, you haven't eaten your lunch. [00:32:47] Speaker B: I'm going to be honest, I completely forgot about that. [00:32:50] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. That's why we ended the lesson. Well, I mean, I could eat your lunch if you guys don't want your lunch. [00:32:58] Speaker B: No, I definitely do want it. Totally. Yeah. Let's go. [00:33:01] Speaker A: All right, so you and Debon, he kind of, like, drops the spell, and the dust kind of falls to the ground, just, like, disappears. And siblings like, please, guys, hold on. Don't leave me behind again. And she runs, like, catch up. She's like, no one else is cool. Okay. And so you guys run into no one else. And so you guys run up to the dining hall, which is just, like, when there's feasts and stuff, it's here. But this is just kind of where the servants and the people gather. And I will say that. Marcelono, you see, actually, your knight here, the Green knight, is here. [00:33:38] Speaker B: The Green knight. [00:33:39] Speaker A: I'm going to say his name is Sir Verdas. [00:33:42] Speaker B: Ah. Very fortunate that he happened to make his way into this occupation. [00:33:47] Speaker A: Listen, man, I can get inspired from a lot of things. Maybe he changed his name. I don't know. That's her boy. All right. Sir Verdas is there, and he's got his armor on. So Verdas is a human as well. But something about when you are the Green knight. Well, let me describe you for him. So he's got his medal, a suit of armor, which is obviously green. Duh. But it's really nice. It's got, like, engraved, like, vine work in the metal. He's wearing the symbol of the unicorn on his front, which is one of the symbols of Cordia. Now, he has a helmet, but the helmet is a very unique one because it has to accommodate for his antlers. [00:34:35] Speaker B: Oh, boy. [00:34:36] Speaker A: Okay, so Severadas has two antlers, and the helmet that he wears kind of goes down above them and then has some sides kind of like clap on. He's not wearing the helmet right now because he's inside, but he is holding it. You see him eating, and he sees you, and he gives a friendly wave and beckons for you to come over. [00:34:57] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. Right on it. Yeah. [00:35:00] Speaker A: All right, my slim, I'll catch up with you later. I should probably go check in with my knight as well. [00:35:06] Speaker B: Yeah, I guess that's what we get for not eating when we had the chance. Anyway, got to see a cool elk, though. Yeah, that was cool. That was cool. [00:35:14] Speaker A: Remember that thunderwelk? That's cool, bro. [00:35:18] Speaker B: Zip zap. Yeah. [00:35:20] Speaker A: So you head over to Cervarides, who is sitting there eating. You can tell he's near the end of his meal. I like the picture a. He's got brown hair, but it's also getting gray as well. And he's just got kind of like a bigger beard, know, maybe should be a little cleaner than it is, but it's got a little bit of wildness to it. And he goes, he's like, what voice do I want Veritas to have? Hey, come on over. [00:35:48] Speaker B: How do I feel about this? [00:35:50] Speaker A: That's pretty similar to Debon, but if I had a little twang, maybe a little bit of that. Yeah. Mars Leno coming over. [00:35:59] Speaker B: That's good, because that gives him a little bit of characteristics that distinguishes him from the king Arthur one. So this is. [00:36:07] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, come over. [00:36:10] Speaker B: Yep. Odd. My way. This is a big. [00:36:14] Speaker A: Great. You're here. He, like, kind of pats you on the shoulder, and he's like, sit, sit. I want to hear about how your day's been going so far. How are the lessons with Professor Chuckman's? Are those paying off? I know you're struggling with them. Last we spoke. Yep. [00:36:30] Speaker B: Wouldn't you believe it? I am. How to even describe Professor Truckman's lessons, let's call them varied. I went into today feeling like, oh, I'm so far behind. It's going to be tricky, but I'm doing my best. And at the end of the lesson, kind of felt like, boy, we just looked at a map for ten minutes. Been a bit of a mixed bag. [00:36:54] Speaker A: You see, veritas kind of like pinched the bridge of his nose. He's like, let me guess. Chuckmans is not really teaching, is he? [00:37:02] Speaker B: I don't think he's having his greatest week. I think maybe if somebody could check in on him and see if he's having a rough time in his personal life. [00:37:16] Speaker A: Yeah, no, actually, I don't need to check in. I know what's going on with him. He's been on the cusp of. He keeps talking about a breakthrough, some kind of a breakthrough, and, well, he ain't there. That's unfortunate that he's taking it out on you three. I mean, you guys are the future of this castle, and that's a shame. Shame. One of these days, you're going to be the Green knight, and I need to make sure you're ready. [00:37:42] Speaker B: Well, aside from my usual duties of attending to the stables and the nightly quarters and making sure things are clean and top shape, is there anything in particular could be working on to increase those? I'm running out of nouns skills, I guess. [00:38:07] Speaker A: Mars Lando. He's kind of smiling. He's like, yeah. I appreciate your tenacity. This is good. I mean, when you first came to me. [00:38:18] Speaker B: Why did you start this sentence eight years ago? Yeah. [00:38:24] Speaker A: When you first came to me eight years ago, I'll be honest, I didn't think you were going to hear what I'm not saying. Don't hear what I'm not saying here. I didn't think you were going to be much of a night. I'll be honest. Other than your gumption, your tenacity, and that has not wavered in the slightest, I think you're ready. I've got a different task for you other than just stable keeping and cleaning up. Oh, I don't know if you saw. There's the centaur walking around. Did you see him today? [00:39:01] Speaker B: I did, yeah. That's right. Yeah. [00:39:03] Speaker A: So the centaurs are in town. They come, they go, they're nomadic and all. I was going to go and visit them. Just. Good old ambassadorship, right? Check in on them, see how they're doing. It's been a couple of months since they'd been in town. See if they need anything. See if they've got any news of what's going on in the forest that might help us. They're our greatest ally in recon. But I think you should go today. Go talk to the Centaurs. I mean, you've been on these trips with me before. You know the joke. We greet them. We're hospitable. We listen. You know, they just talk. We just listen. Listen what the guys say. Remember what they say. Marcelino, that's going to be the challenge for you. I need you to remember what they say and bring that back to me. If you can do that, I think we'll have ourselves a successful day. [00:40:01] Speaker B: You're going to greet them, going to listen, and going to gather that information and bring it on back to the castle. I think I have got it. [00:40:08] Speaker A: Wonderful. [00:40:09] Speaker B: All right. Okay. [00:40:10] Speaker A: My one word of advice for you, because usually you don't do much of the talking when you're on these trips. [00:40:16] Speaker B: That's correct. [00:40:16] Speaker A: These centaurs, they are not afraid to say anything. Don't take it personal. [00:40:24] Speaker B: Right. [00:40:25] Speaker A: They're free speakers. Okay. [00:40:28] Speaker B: Absolutely. So when are we leaving? [00:40:30] Speaker A: You can speak back. You're leaving right now. [00:40:33] Speaker B: I see. [00:40:35] Speaker A: I'm not going on this one, that's all. [00:40:37] Speaker B: I missed a key. You know what? Yeah. [00:40:41] Speaker A: Don't do that again. Don't miss out those key details, will not. All right. [00:40:45] Speaker B: Not missing the key details. It's fine. I am doing this one on my own. And that's not worrying. It's great, actually. [00:40:56] Speaker A: Just friendly. [00:40:58] Speaker B: Absolutely. [00:40:58] Speaker A: Connections. All right. [00:41:00] Speaker B: Of course. [00:41:01] Speaker A: Get to it. [00:41:02] Speaker B: No fear. And he gives him a salute, and he heads back out of the hall. I guess, yeah. [00:41:08] Speaker A: You walk out. I think you just see sympathy out there. She's kind of waiting for you guys to finish. She's like, so you finished with lunch? [00:41:16] Speaker B: The sympathy. My knight just asked me to go on a diplomatic mission to the centaurs. Do you want to come with me? [00:41:20] Speaker A: Oh, the centaurs. Well, you can see she kind of, like, is, like, fidgeting with her dress as well. And she's like, I do love the centaurs. They are so fun, and their poetry is so would. Yes, I would love to. Yes. [00:41:38] Speaker B: All right. [00:41:38] Speaker A: And she busts out. She's got, like, a little pocket notebook with her. She's always got it. Everyone knows sympathy always has her notebook. [00:41:45] Speaker B: She's like, okay, good. [00:41:46] Speaker A: I'm so ready. [00:41:47] Speaker B: All right. Should we try to find Debon, or should we just go for it? I don't know where he went. [00:41:52] Speaker A: I think I also saw him talking with his knight, so I think he has something going on. [00:41:56] Speaker B: Oh, yeah, he's busy. All right. [00:41:57] Speaker A: Okay. So you guys head out into Castle main courtyard. Thank you all for listening tonight's quest. A thank you to all of our patrons, and a big thank you to our triumphant patrons. Low long may he reign. Those dang hils again. Mike and Reagan, the canon deity of riches. The next episode will be coming out on January 26, which will be part two of Knight's quest. Green. See you then.
