[00:00:00] Speaker A: Previously on Knights Quest. Green in the kingdom of Cordia, in the greenstone castle, we are introduced to Marcelino, the squire to the green knight named Cerverides. Marcelino has two friends, sympathy and Debon, both also squires to the knights. After going through the woods and hunting down a thunder elk, Marcellano talks to Cerverides and gets his next quest to speak with the centaurs and try to remember as much as you can from them. Okay, so you guys head out into the castle main courtyard, where you see two centaurs. You know that there is, like, a whole community of them that have come to town. They kind of travel in clans, but here's two of them right here speaking. [00:01:16] Speaker B: To each other, all right? And he walks up to him and he says, hello, everybody. My name is Marcellino. I come here on behalf of the Greenstone castle to welcome you and to ask you what I am on a diplomatic mission to all of the centaurs to say hello and ask, how you all doing? [00:01:47] Speaker A: You see, one of them kind of turns and looks you up and down. Obviously, they're taller than you, right? You mentioned horse. Human on top. Sometimes centaurs are like, they don't have clothes on. I think these dudes got clothes on. They got, like, not much. They're very free flowing. Not much more than, like, a long vest or something, but they got some clothes on. And one of them he turns to and he says, I've seen you before. I've seen your young face. You're the squire of the night who lives in this place. [00:02:21] Speaker B: That's correct. The squire of the green knight. Still in training, but looking forward to it. [00:02:27] Speaker A: Yeah, very nice. Yes, a good welcome. A good welcome. He turns to his companion that he's with, and he says, yes, we came here to find your master, the knight of green, but his face had not yet been seen. So we'd love to take you back with us to the rest of our people. [00:02:50] Speaker B: That perfectly lines up with the thing I've been asked to do. So lead the way. [00:02:56] Speaker A: So the two centaurs lead you out of the courtyard. You can see, like, as they leave the castle, like walls, they kind of, like, breathe a little lighter. I don't want to say skittish, but they scrunched in. Even though that they were outside, you felt like they had, like, a scrunched back. But now that they're outside, they open up, and even as they leave the town, they open up a little bit more, and you can see that there is a small gathering of the centaurs, maybe. There's, I would say 30 to 40 of them just right on the perimeter of the town, not too much farther from where you guys had been looking for the thunder elk earlier. And they've set up a small camp here. There's not like any tents or anything. But you do see they have some larger bags set down, they have some small fires lit that they're cooking food. And you see the children, centaurs kind of running around playing. It's just a nice community. Young, old people all there together. Yeah. Just kind of like a small, little camp. Small o camp. [00:03:55] Speaker B: Yeah, nice. [00:03:56] Speaker A: And you see that sympathy is just beaming and she's like, did you hear their cadence? That was so cool. I love the way they talk, where they rhyme, but not always. [00:04:07] Speaker B: I wasn't sure if that was intentional or not. I didn't want to say anything in case it was rude. [00:04:12] Speaker A: I love the way they use their words. It's just like, wow. And she can see she's like noting down not just like what they said, but she's underlining some the emphasis of certain words and she's like, wow, this is okay. My night's going to be really happy about this. [00:04:29] Speaker B: So is mine. If you're taking thorough notes, then that's going to make my job much, much easier. [00:04:34] Speaker A: Oh, were you supposed to do the notes? [00:04:38] Speaker B: Not as such. I was just supposed to remember everything that was said. [00:04:42] Speaker A: Oh, you see, she kind of like pulls her book back so you can't see it and she's like, I will be writing things down. But I do think you do need to work on your memory things. Your remembering. [00:04:55] Speaker B: Oh, boy. [00:04:56] Speaker A: So how about this? You do your best to remember and then I'll have the answers. [00:05:01] Speaker B: Got you. [00:05:02] Speaker A: So, oh, on the way after we have the meeting with the centaurs, I can quiz. Quiz on the way back. [00:05:10] Speaker B: Got it. [00:05:11] Speaker A: This is great. This will be good for both of us. [00:05:13] Speaker B: It's going to be more school outside of school. You know what? [00:05:17] Speaker A: No, I'm into it. It's just practice. And I know you're good at practice. This is practice. [00:05:23] Speaker B: Somebody should look into a magical way of improving memories. I wonder if that's ever going to be a thing and really be helpful. [00:05:29] Speaker A: She like pauses and thinks. She's like, I don't think so. I don't think there's any memory magic or memory spirits. I've never heard of this, but if there was, I must have forgotten. [00:05:40] Speaker B: Hey, I see what you did there. [00:05:43] Speaker A: Thank you. So the centaur who had been speaking with you, he gestures over and you see just this epic centaur. I mean, he's jacked, he's ripped. I think he's got, like, thick, black, flowing hair, beautiful beard as well, right? He's got one scar, like, across his chest. And I'm going to say, because they're horses, he is probably like a black horse with some gray spots on him. Okay, I got to scrub my centaur horses. And he turns to and he says, so you're the squire? [00:06:20] Speaker B: That's correct. I've been sent here to formally welcome you and say good day in the name of the greenstone castle of Cordia and to check in as far as news of the forest. [00:06:38] Speaker A: He kind of pauses and gives a little smile, and he says, I was not told that we would have a foal coming to speak with us about your goal, but I am happy to see your strength. [00:06:55] Speaker B: Yeah, it might have been a change of plans. I'm not totally sure. Was I supposed to bow? Oh, I should have bowed any bows. [00:07:05] Speaker A: The centaur kind of like, pauses, and he gives like a small little bow back as well. He says, I've seen you before, foe. You came with Cervirdas before. [00:07:20] Speaker B: That's right. I am making my way through my training, I suppose. And seems this is another step in. Here's the mission I'm taking on my own. [00:07:34] Speaker A: He says, the name is Hushel, and these are my friends. Tonight our wandering has come to an end. I'm glad to see one more friend. [00:07:48] Speaker B: Likewise honored to be here on behalf of my knight and my castle, but also in my own responsibility and respect. Yeah, sometimes I start a sentence and I don't 100% know. But you know what? I know I'm going to get somewhere. [00:08:11] Speaker A: I can see that you do not feel as confident with your words as you do with your body. [00:08:18] Speaker B: That's a very eloquent way to put it. I would agree as much as possible. [00:08:22] Speaker A: You need to take the strength in your arms and put them behind your voice. [00:08:27] Speaker B: There are stars in his eyes. He has a new idol to look up to. [00:08:31] Speaker A: Yeah, sympathy equally is just like, wow. Just writing it down, everything he's saying. And he says, and who are you? Friend of the foal? And sympathy kind of like, pauses and looks up. Oh, you're talking to me. Hi, I'm sympathy, squire of the tuned knight. We don't usually come out and speak to you guys, but I just love the way you guys talk. It's really cool. And you see, wu Shul says, yes, we believe in freedom of the tongue. You can say whatever you want. There's no restrictions to your words. But there is then honor, when one can use more eloquent and constructive words. So do not fear, full of the Green Knight. You may speak freely with us, and there won't be any judgment. Wow. [00:09:33] Speaker B: I mean, honestly. Yeah. That was like the coolest speech I've ever heard. I gotta try to remember that one. [00:09:40] Speaker A: Yeah, that was no speech. [00:09:47] Speaker B: Yeah, no speech. Yeah, just regular talking, not worrying about it. No judgment on it. Thank you. [00:09:55] Speaker A: You asked for an update on what's going on out in the woods. [00:09:58] Speaker B: Yes. [00:09:59] Speaker A: You want to know the goings and the comings of the creatures within. [00:10:03] Speaker B: Yes, absolutely. [00:10:05] Speaker A: Yanzi Wuxol thinks. He says, well, there is good news, and there is less exciting news that I have to share. The smaller creatures are doing quite well. Free, excited, joyful, as it is spring. We have been very honored in our recent journeys the past few months, coming out of winter to see great life and many new creatures abounding. However, this is where the good news ends. [00:10:39] Speaker B: I was going to say, I felt like there was a. Felt like there was a turnaround coming. [00:10:43] Speaker A: Yes, it was. And we physically did turn around when we saw this and came straight here as we knew. You and the green Knight, the king that presides in his walled land, want to know? And he pauses and he says, he kind of like, looks back and forth. And you see some of the other centaurs. They're not like, nervous, but you can tell they're all kind of like, listening in attentively, as if they know what he's about to talk about. And he says, I saw a sight I had not seen or any of my friends here have ever seen before. But of course, we had heard of, in our many poems of old, there was a giant lurking in the woods. [00:11:31] Speaker B: Whoa, that's new. [00:11:34] Speaker A: That's old. There have been no giants since before the elves took over. Last I heard, last was spoken, they're all dead. I do not know what this means, but I can account that I saw it, as did many others of my friends here, and we can give our word freely. [00:12:04] Speaker B: It's likely Marcelano would have never seen a giant, obviously. [00:12:08] Speaker A: Right. [00:12:09] Speaker B: Okay. [00:12:10] Speaker A: From everything that wushla is saying, yeah. You know, yeah, there used to be giants in this land, but when people talk about giants is when they're talking about spirit war, which. [00:12:20] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:12:20] Speaker A: The time setting of this one was a while ago. [00:12:23] Speaker B: Yeah. No, for sure. [00:12:24] Speaker A: We're in the year 1951, if I didn't say that. [00:12:27] Speaker B: So you actually saw it, the giant in the woods? [00:12:31] Speaker A: I did. Though I will admit the light was not as bright as my sight would have allowed. It was evening. The moon was high, but the trees were higher. Lower trees are in between it. [00:12:50] Speaker B: I was just trying to picture that in my brain. [00:12:53] Speaker A: Yeah, the moon was high, but the trees were also there. I don't know why. I set myself up to have a group of people that talk really pretty, so I have to do it. [00:13:08] Speaker B: Yeah. Oh, man. I laugh whenever there's any minor slip up, but that's only because you are taking a thousand times more risks than I am in this report. [00:13:18] Speaker A: I'm taking a big risk. The moon was high and showed its face well, but it was timid behind the leaves that cast a shadow upon this giant. I saw, but I can assure you it was indeed a giant. It moved, it lumbered, it thundered. Though there were no clouds to create such noise. And though there wasn't much light, I could see its face and its eyes. They were dim, they were hollow, and it did not notice us. And I thank the trees for that. [00:13:57] Speaker B: Well, I think he looks over at sympathy, and he's sort of in the panic mode of like, this is my only chance to get relevant information, so if I don't get the right details, I'm going to kick myself later for not thinking. To ask the right questions is the question, like, where specifically was it? Would that be helpful at all? Okay, so is there a more specific location that it was seen at? [00:14:28] Speaker A: I saw this creature as we were on our way to cross the Avenflow river, which is your border between your country and dad. The. [00:14:39] Speaker B: Ah, he's not a fan. [00:14:41] Speaker A: Not a fan of borders? Not a fan of borders. We were going to continue our free movement towards the north, exploring this great forest. But at this site, I thought that you and the one who leads, you would want to know this. [00:14:57] Speaker B: And he's got his chin in his hand, and he's looking down and he's thinking, in your estimation, how. No, we'll just do it in character. Sympathy. Sympathy. I'm trying to ask, what's the level of danger? I guess I just don't know how to phrase it. [00:15:20] Speaker A: You want to do it in a poetic way. [00:15:23] Speaker B: Yeah. I don't just want to be like, oh, how scared should I be? [00:15:28] Speaker A: Right? And you can see she starts writing different options, and she's like, no. You could say something like, is the risk of giant hiring. [00:15:43] Speaker B: I don't think I need it to rhyme. [00:15:45] Speaker A: No. I don't know. You could just ask him, is this something we should be worried about? But that doesn't sound good. What would your concerns be if you were in my place? My position, my. You see, she's kind of like getting lost in the weeds of it. [00:16:06] Speaker B: No, I really like that one, though. Thank you. Okay, break. And then he goes back to facing and he says, in your estimation, what would your concerns be if you were in my place? As one who lives at the Greenstone. [00:16:22] Speaker A: Castle he kind of like stops and thinks and he says, shake himself out of it. He's like, if I were in your place, I wouldn't like it. Partly because of being confined by the walls and restricted of my free movement. But I am assuming that is not your hypothetical. You are more asking, what is your wisdom for this situation? Should we be concerned? Is this a danger? [00:16:53] Speaker B: Yeah. Got it in one. [00:16:56] Speaker A: He thinks, he says, uncertain. The poems of the giants range from them being fierce tyrants to the greatest leaders the great forest has ever had. So I do not know which ones are of the most truth. But they all died for some time. So the real question I have been wondering, as have my friends is where did this giant come from? Did one live and has remained hidden? Then why emerge? Or is it still dead? Some unliving creature hate that possibility? [00:17:41] Speaker B: Goodness. [00:17:42] Speaker A: Or were eyes poorer than I perceived? And this is some newer creation of height. [00:17:51] Speaker B: I thought the undead possibility was going to be the most concerning one but that last one is also quite nerve wracking. Not going to lie. [00:18:01] Speaker A: Our nerves have been racked as well. I wish I had more joyful tidings, but this is all I have to bring. [00:18:10] Speaker B: As do I. But it is not for us to decide what time we. It is not for us to decide what sympathy. Do you remember that? Do you remember that one book that's like that really good quote? It was like, oh, it is not for us to decide what? [00:18:32] Speaker A: Oh, yes. It is not for us to decide our fate for the writer has written it in its place. [00:18:40] Speaker B: That is how the quote ends, isn't it? [00:18:42] Speaker A: Yeah, that's the end. That was it. [00:18:45] Speaker B: Can I do a check to see how the centaurs feel about religion or do I need to ask him outright? [00:18:50] Speaker A: You can do a check. All right. I'll let you do rashiosination. Oh, boy. [00:18:57] Speaker B: Is that my only option or lore? [00:19:01] Speaker A: Cool. [00:19:02] Speaker B: So it doesn't matter which one. [00:19:04] Speaker A: I'll give you difficulty two. Give you difficulty two. Do let me know which one you're rolling, though, because I'll be different. One is either from you remembering, which is lore. [00:19:14] Speaker B: I'll go lore. Okay. [00:19:15] Speaker A: Difficulties, two. And you've got a one on this sucker with. [00:19:20] Speaker B: It's a failure with two disadvantages. [00:19:24] Speaker A: So the failure is you don't remember. [00:19:26] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:19:28] Speaker A: The two disadvantages could be you think. [00:19:31] Speaker B: You remember, which is very in character. [00:19:35] Speaker A: Yeah. You think you remember centaurs. They're cool. They have cool sounding things. They're probably, like, really into religions. They probably actually really perfect. They probably love religions. [00:19:50] Speaker B: A. Yeah. Yeah. Well, as the saying of Cordia goes, it is not for us to decide what times we see, for it is as the writer plans. And he's beeping. He's super proud of himself. Yeah. [00:20:07] Speaker A: The second you mention writer, you see Wu sholect frowns and he says, you quoted this on purpose. Have. [00:20:16] Speaker B: Yes. For the purpose of encouragement, I guess. [00:20:23] Speaker A: Yeah, I think you can tell he's kind of. Kind of getting, like, not annoyed, but he'd rather do something else now. And he says, greenfold, you have done all right. You have much more growth to attain, like the plants you nurture. But I do see your sprout growing, and I'm not concerned about what plant you will be. Here is my wisdom for you. We do not like the writer nor any other religion. We do not like being restricted by others telling us what to do. Our actions are our own and our consequences likewise. Thus, we believe the same is for you. You have now come and greeted us. Well, thank you for this. And I've shared my information with you. With that, I'm going to go and play with my children. We may be here tomorrow. [00:21:18] Speaker B: This conversation is over. [00:21:21] Speaker A: Have a pleasant evening, young green pole. And he walks away. [00:21:25] Speaker B: Thank you. Yes. Boy, I really thought I had that one. [00:21:30] Speaker A: Yeah, I think now that he says that, I'm remembering that that was the third thing that they like. That's like their jam, and I forgot about it. I'm sorry about that one. [00:21:45] Speaker B: Well, I mean, that's definitely. He's right. I do need to stand to remember things better. Will. Live and learn. [00:21:53] Speaker A: Live and learn. Yeah, I learned a lot. I learned a lot of stuff. I can't wait to show this to my night. [00:22:00] Speaker B: Yeah, I'm not super thrilled about the giant thing, but it's important. Yeah, it is important. So. Got to get that done. Got to get that information transferred. [00:22:14] Speaker A: We should probably hurry before you forget. [00:22:16] Speaker B: Yeah. You know what? [00:22:18] Speaker A: Right now? [00:22:18] Speaker B: Yeah, it's going to fade away. Just like the elk picture that we didn't even get to show you. [00:22:23] Speaker A: You had a. What? [00:22:24] Speaker B: Did you see it? Like a little bit before it was me. Yeah, but before that, the whole point of showing it to you was the elk thing. [00:22:33] Speaker A: I didn't see any elk. [00:22:34] Speaker B: Oh, that is too bad. We found an elk and we didn't know what to do with it. And then Debon, wait. Made a picture of an elk much later. We got to go. Oh, yeah. Let's go. Let's go. [00:22:43] Speaker A: Let's go. [00:22:43] Speaker B: And we leave. Okay. [00:22:44] Speaker A: So you guys run off, you head back to the castle. She quizzes you on it. [00:22:49] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:22:49] Speaker A: Now you can just say you do better and remember or do you want to have a role to see how much you remember and this could be an XP gaining moment could grow in your memory. [00:23:01] Speaker B: We got to try. We got to try. Okay. [00:23:03] Speaker A: Yeah, we got to try. Here's what I have you do, Jamie. [00:23:06] Speaker B: Okay. [00:23:07] Speaker A: You're going to roll Laura again. It's going to be difficulty too. [00:23:11] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:23:11] Speaker A: But you will get a boost from sympathy helping you. If you succeed on this, you will get an XP and intelligence that's going to be needed. Oh, boy. [00:23:23] Speaker B: Marcelino, come on. Come through for me. [00:23:28] Speaker A: Okay. [00:23:29] Speaker B: We got our success. We got two disadvantages, but we got our success. Okay. [00:23:33] Speaker A: You can mark down an XP. [00:23:34] Speaker B: You got excellent. Excellent. [00:23:36] Speaker A: The two disadvantages are going to be so you remember. So that's not going to have anything to do with the remembering. I think one of the disadvantages is going to be that maybe it takes you some time. Like on the way back, sympathy quizzes you and you forgot some of the, like you remember giant but you didn't remember where, you didn't remember what it looked like or some of the other details. You guys have to spend some time actually quizzing on that. So it's like dinner time by the time you get back. And the other disadvantages is going to be that when you do finally explain it, you're now going to have so much of it memorized word for word that you have to recite it as a block. And if you get cut off, you have to start over and be like, here's the whole thing. I memorized it this time. [00:24:28] Speaker B: I can't remember it unless we go in from the. [00:24:32] Speaker A: So you, I'll say, where do you want to find Sir Verdas? Is it in the great hall again for dinner or is it in the sparring area or his chamber maybe? [00:24:44] Speaker B: I like in the courtyard because that feels dramatic. Yeah. [00:24:47] Speaker A: Okay, so you're in the sparring. [00:24:50] Speaker B: Sure. Yeah. [00:24:52] Speaker A: As you see, he's, I think he's just training against one of the regular palace castle guards. And you see him, and he does. Well, you don't see him fight very often, because you guys do a lot of things. You deal with magic, you deal with alchemy and potions and all these things. But you do have sword fighting in combat as part of your training. And you see him, he's got a nice long sword, and he has some good flourishes, and he kind of, like, does the thing where he spins around and blocks it from behind and eventually beats guy. He's fighting, and he sheaths his sword, and he kind of wipes his brow and he goes, Marcelino, good to see you. Cervirdes, I was worried it took you some time. [00:25:36] Speaker B: Yep. Lot to report. [00:25:38] Speaker A: Great. [00:25:39] Speaker B: Just quite a bit. [00:25:41] Speaker A: Let's hear it. [00:25:41] Speaker B: Yeah. Okay. [00:25:44] Speaker A: Now, for sake of time, we can just say you recite it. [00:25:48] Speaker B: Yeah, he has to recite it from the beginning. Yeah. [00:25:51] Speaker A: And I think that's something where after you do the good news, he's like, that is good. What else is there? And you're like, oh, you cut me off. I need to start. I need to do it all in one go. And Veritas, he's like, all right, okay, proceed. And you start back over with the rabbits and the animals in the spring. But when you start mentioning the giants, you see, Veritas also does get of the. [00:26:20] Speaker B: That's part of the disadvantages, too, is that he can't get to all the relevant info without also including the part about how he mentioned the writer and embarrassed himself. Oh, yeah. That's all in there, or else he won't be able to remember it. [00:26:32] Speaker A: Yeah, I think Veritas at the end of it says, well, I give you a pat on the back for remembering, as was your initial initiative. I hope you also remember the lesson you learned about dealing with centaurs. I'm actually quite honored that he even thought to bring it to our king's attention. They're not a fan of kings either. They don't like restrictions. [00:27:00] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. They don't like borders or kings or walls or religions or. There's a lot of things they are not a fan of. [00:27:09] Speaker A: Here's how I was taught about it. They have their three things that they like, their freedom, a freedom of their movement, freedom of the talking, freedom of the doing. I think they have it phrased in a more poetic way. [00:27:25] Speaker B: But no, that's going to help me. Three categories. I'm on it. That works for me. That does help. [00:27:30] Speaker A: No, I'm going to need to think about this giant issue. [00:27:34] Speaker B: I get it. [00:27:35] Speaker A: Hopefully, it doesn't become a giant issue, but. No, but good work, Marcelo. You can see he kind of, like, smiles, and he's obviously been training you for eight years, and he's got his tougher moments. But I think, overall, I think Veritas is a friendly person. He says, we did well tonight, son. I'm hoping it's not going to be for a long time, but I know that when you take on the mantle of Green knight and you get the antlers sprout for you, I think you'll do a fine that is. [00:28:12] Speaker B: You know what? That's always going to be a little strange to picture, but it is. Oh, yeah. I believe it. [00:28:19] Speaker A: Don't worry. It doesn't hurt. [00:28:20] Speaker B: Oh, that's good. [00:28:21] Speaker A: But you got to change how you sleep. It really does mess with that. Oh, boy. [00:28:28] Speaker B: Okay. [00:28:28] Speaker A: If you're a side sleeper, forget about it. [00:28:31] Speaker B: That's going to be a problem. [00:28:32] Speaker A: You're a side sleeper. [00:28:33] Speaker B: Yes. [00:28:35] Speaker A: That's unfortunate. [00:28:37] Speaker B: I'm thinking specialty bed. We'll figure it out. We'll figure it out. [00:28:45] Speaker A: We'll do this another time. I'll show you the bed I got. [00:28:47] Speaker B: It's pretty nice, the logistics of sleeping with antlers. Yeah. [00:28:52] Speaker A: So I think the rest of the day wraps up. You finally eat dinner. You hadn't eaten yet. I think, before you go to bed, do you want to speak to either of your friends or anyone else? [00:29:05] Speaker B: Yeah, I could talk to sympathy again. Okay. [00:29:09] Speaker A: Yeah. You find sympathy. She is sitting on one of the upper walls of the castle. So she's, like, outside, kind of like, hanging over the edge, like of the battlements, like, with her feet hanging over. And you can see she's kind of, like, going over the stuff she had written down from the centaurs and maybe kind of, like, trying to construct her own. How she would respond. She's like, no. Okay. But it wasn't rhyming a lot, but there was sometimes a rhyme. It was just more the emphasis. The emphasis. And she's got, like, notes, and she can scratch all over the borders already. She doesn't notice you. Approach. [00:29:51] Speaker B: Hello. I'd like to say hello from a distance so as to scare you as little as. [00:29:59] Speaker A: I know. I was really. This is great stuff. My knight, Sir Mallard. [00:30:07] Speaker B: Sure. [00:30:07] Speaker A: Yeah, Sir Mallard. He told me to really study the centaurs and the way that they speak and even their common poetry is. We can learn a lot. We can learn a lot. [00:30:22] Speaker B: I believe it. Just from hearing your observations on the matter, I can tell how much thought you've put into this. [00:30:30] Speaker A: Did you need anything? [00:30:31] Speaker B: Yeah. And he's kind of next to her, like, facing the same way, like, looking out over the know, and he. Sympathy. When. When Wushel posited three different things that he could have learned that could be the case for this giant they saw. One, that something somehow survived from ages past. Two, that something has been undead or reanimated, or three, that this is a new creation of some kind of magic user. All three things seem to bode for a very uncertain future, to say the least. Does that scare you? [00:31:17] Speaker A: Oh, you see, she kind of looks up from the book that she had been working on and looks out into the forest, which is dark now but familiar. [00:31:29] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:31:29] Speaker A: And she goes, oh, well, I think it would have a couple of years ago. But our training has taught us the importance of not being afraid. Not that that doesn't happen. We do get afraid. That's normal. That's natural. But we can't stay there, because if you stay afraid, then you lose. So I was afraid when he said that, but now I have turned that into an opportunity, because this is something for us to discover and to learn, and it could be a good thing, could be a great thing. Something is happening, or it's a bad thing, in which case, we know about it now, and we could do something about it and help people. So that's where I'm at. At it. But I was scared. I was scared earlier, and now I'm excited. [00:32:32] Speaker B: Yeah. Thanks for putting that into words. [00:32:37] Speaker A: Yeah, that is what I try to do, is put things into words, and she pulls out. I'm going to say she has a small harp. And, you see, she just kind of starts plucking at it, as she often does, and she says, yeah, she's kind of plucking a little tune. [00:32:56] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:32:57] Speaker A: All right. Well, good night, Marcelina. See you tomorrow for that old test. [00:33:03] Speaker B: Oh, speaking of fear. Yeah, well, if it's anything like today, I suppose I should have nothing to worry about. Anything like today's class. [00:33:14] Speaker A: I mean, if we all fail, then it's actually not our fault. It's wrestler chuckle buns. [00:33:21] Speaker B: That's a very positive way to look at it. Sleep well. [00:33:26] Speaker A: Okay. [00:33:27] Speaker B: You had enough to idea how to end this episode? [00:33:30] Speaker A: I do. I've had it planned since before we started. Oh. I want you to make a dreams roll. Yes. [00:33:36] Speaker B: Excellent. [00:33:36] Speaker A: As you have a dream, stat. And you're going to bed, let's get some dreams. [00:33:40] Speaker B: I even have proficiency. I'm so close to dropping everything. All the papers, all the dice, the dice roller. That would have been an absolute mess. Okay, hang on. Okay, what's the difficulty? [00:33:55] Speaker A: What are your skills? Just so I know, the proficiencies were. [00:33:59] Speaker B: Dreams and husbandry, and the stat is two. [00:34:02] Speaker A: Okay, I want you to do one purple, one red. [00:34:05] Speaker B: Oh, okay. [00:34:06] Speaker A: I know I'm throwing a red at you. [00:34:09] Speaker B: All right. It's not great. [00:34:13] Speaker A: I got three failures. [00:34:16] Speaker B: Yeah, definitely a failure. But two advantages, though. [00:34:20] Speaker A: Okay, so I was having you roll just for me to note. So the success was going to be. It was going to be a good dream. Failure is a bad dream. Advantages are going to be it's helpful, disadvantage. It's not helpful. So it's a bad dream, but it's going to be helpful. [00:34:39] Speaker B: Bad dream. That's helpful. Oh, boy. [00:34:41] Speaker A: So, as you dream, you dream often. This is something you've known about. You've talked to cervarides about. He wasn't a dreamer, but I think other green knights in the past. Oh, okay. So he's been able to help you in that as much as he can. And so you've learned to always pay attention to your dreams. Okay. In this dream, you are in the woods again. Very normal for you. [00:35:07] Speaker B: Sure. [00:35:08] Speaker A: I must say, also with a failure, I drive the dreams. Maybe success is you drive dreams. You can be more involved in them. [00:35:15] Speaker B: Cool. [00:35:16] Speaker A: In this dream, you're walking through the woods, and it gets dark fast, like it's nighttime fast. But the trees themselves seem to get even darker than usual, almost like a pure, inky black. And they grow tall and loom above you. And then you see up above the two dim eyes that you imagined of this giant. And it just looms above you and taller over you. And even though it's dark, you can see it reach out a giant hand, and it grabs you and it crunches you within it. And you feel constricted. You feel trapped. You feel its nails digging into your head, like there's this two sharp pressures on your head, but that ends. And through it, you hear a song, and you see the stars above the trees, and the song and the starlight causes the giant to leave, along with the trees itself. And the giant walks away, but not without you getting the sense that you are injured and hurt and weaker than you were before. And then as you watch the giant walk away, you turn around, and you see that there's nothing there. You're alone, other than a single red hat. A hat blowing in the wind. A red hat. You see a single red hat blowing in the wind, but that pain on your head is still there. And you wake up from your dream kind of frazzled, and you swing your head up forward and you see, like, feathers flying around you. [00:37:11] Speaker B: Oh, feathers. [00:37:13] Speaker A: Yeah. Why do you look around? [00:37:18] Speaker B: I would love to look around. Yes. [00:37:20] Speaker A: Yeah. You look around and as you look around, you see more feathers flying around as you world turn your head left and right. [00:37:26] Speaker B: Yeah. Can I get out of bed and find what's happening? [00:37:30] Speaker A: Yeah, you get out of bed and it seems like the feathers kind of, like, will drift from above and they follow you a little bit as you're walking around at night. [00:37:38] Speaker B: Okay. [00:37:39] Speaker A: And you see it's still evening. You're not quite sure what time, but you woke up in the middle of the night, you're frazzled. [00:37:49] Speaker B: My quarters would be, like, in the castle somewhere, right? [00:37:52] Speaker A: Yes. Okay. [00:37:55] Speaker B: Can I take my best shot at writing down some of those details in my dream? [00:37:59] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:38:00] Speaker B: All right. I like the idea of him writing things down very frantically. And then the next day seeing it and just being like, tree star song, giant crush hat. What? [00:38:10] Speaker A: Yeah. What is this? You light a candle and you scribble it down again. The feathers keep falling on your desk. [00:38:20] Speaker B: So when I look up, I don't see any obvious clue as to where they're coming from. [00:38:25] Speaker A: Yeah, you look up and no, you don't see them. [00:38:28] Speaker B: Can I go out into whatever part of the castle is outside my room? Yeah. [00:38:33] Speaker A: The feathers are falling less often now. [00:38:36] Speaker B: Okay. [00:38:36] Speaker A: But, yeah, you walk out and there's a hallway there. You see a servant walk by and the servant looks at you and they're, like, startled, and they're like, what? Marcelino. [00:38:46] Speaker B: Hey. Yeah, it's me. What is happening? What's with the feathers? [00:38:52] Speaker A: The feathers? [00:38:54] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:38:56] Speaker A: I think there are more pressing concerns, sir. The servant gestures to your head. [00:39:02] Speaker B: Oh, no. What's on my head? [00:39:05] Speaker A: Do you reach to touch? I would love to. [00:39:07] Speaker B: Do I have my antlers? [00:39:09] Speaker A: You reach up and you feel your pillow is stuck to two antlers that have grown out of your head. [00:39:18] Speaker B: Oh, boy. [00:39:19] Speaker A: And here's something that you know about. [00:39:21] Speaker B: That that's not supposed to happen yet. [00:39:23] Speaker A: Yeah. There's only supposed to be one green. [00:39:29] Speaker B: Gotta run. I gotta run to his. [00:39:31] Speaker A: You rush to Verdes's room. Yeah. [00:39:34] Speaker B: Throw open. [00:39:35] Speaker A: The second you felt those antlers, you booked it. You turn to his room and you see that he is lying in bed very still. Too still. [00:39:46] Speaker B: Oh, boy. [00:39:46] Speaker A: And you walk hesitantly closer. There's no one else in the room. It's the dead of night. But as you look at him, you see that his eyes are like, I don't want to say the area around his eyes are dark black, like he has these. [00:40:00] Speaker B: Oh, no. [00:40:01] Speaker A: It would be like bags under his eyes, but extreme. He seems. He is pale. He's slightly withered. Cervirdus is dead. [00:40:13] Speaker B: That's not good. [00:40:14] Speaker A: And now you are the Green Knight. [00:40:17] Speaker B: Oh, bad news, bad news, bad news. [00:40:20] Speaker A: And that's where we're going to end the episode here.
